American Idiot pt, 3, technology
As everyone knows there is chaos raging throughout the world....wars, torture, talk of more wars, and the continuing fight for the hearts and minds of people in every part of the world. Unspeakable abuses are being perpetuated in your name...not just torture in cells in Iraq, but bombs, jets, helicopters, missiles, tanks etc. killing thousands of innocent people, all in the name of patriotism, and in the name of God. Make no mistake...sure, these wars are being fought for profit, but also suppossedly for the concept of "freedom"...who is being freed? And who is "freeing"? What is this freedom? Freedom to consume, freedom to confuse, freedom to feel it is ok to hate. And which side are you on in the name of this freedom. Is it Jesus, Allah, Buddha, or even so called humanistic abstractions?
Today, thousands of people are being killed, dying of starvation, diseases that can't be cured....and than at sunset...there is the call of the holy men, telling people to face Mecca and pray...the bombing stops for a couple of hours, or sometimes even minutes....in the name of respect for a different culture....then shots ring out, houses of innocent people are bombed...even holy sites are desecrated....and the war goes on.
Aldous Huxley, who wrote Animal Farm and 1984 has proved to be a prophet who spoke of endless wars, mind control, doublespeak and outright lies by governments that encourage you to spy on your neighbors, suspend freedoms, and not question authority....but even his beleagured citizens had Soma...a drug to pacify and manipulate the people. Today, we have crack cocaine, methamphetamines, and other horrible drugs to fill the void left by the age old benevolent plants and chemicals such as cannibis, psyhedelic (literally, mind manifesting) drugs, and if you are caught in the worship which involve these harmless sacramental tools...you will be sent to prison...perhaps for many years....prison!...the United States has penalties which can cost you years of being locked up, perhaps even for the rest of your life for using life affirming drugs. The United States has one person in every ten locked away in barbarous conditions for even giving information about these things...One person for every ten!...the highest rate of any country in the world. We like to incarcerate our citizens who just happen to be mostly from minority racial groups....hmmmm? Isn't that Convenient! as the church lady used to say. Most of our minority citzens suffer from poverty, incurable diseases, violence, and worse. Is this the action of a compasionate, fair minded nation?
Again, it is done in your name...for your safety and security and freedom. Technology was supposed to make our lives better, but the many headed Hydra of knowledge has given us less freedom, more surveillence of our personal lives, and to be sure each keystroke of this blog is being stored and studied by our benevolent dictators, for information about what you buy, what movies you watch, and any possible motives you might have.....used, once again to make it easier for them to watch you, and of course, help you consume. Stay good, and you will be the best possible citizen....one who doesn't complain, isn't aware...and.....consume.

Love and Fear
There is fear, and there is love. Fear creates dis-ease discomfort, and distance between people and within ourselves. It is like dragging a big stone throughout life that holds us back from our true potential. We are afraid of the future, afraid of what has happened in the past, and most of all..from the present moment.
Fear causes us to have bad relationships, bad experiences and bad karma. Fear comes in many disguises...such as procrastination, shyness, and the failure to enjoy life. We are afraid to look into ourselves and we are are afraid of truth.
It is in the best interests of corporate America to have it's citizens live in fear. This way, they can have the power over our minds and create the illusion that it can solve our problems or cause punishments that rule our lives. It manipuplates our fears very well for the benefit our Overlords. Fear is a powerful thing, and serves to hold us to a certain lifestyle.
Love, on the other hand is just as powerful. With love we can practice foregiveness, kindness, and the ability to control our own lives. Love is compassion, and the path to our true nature.
There is a constant battle between love and fear...Which side are you on? What can we do?

You Can Fool Most of the People Most of the Time
Since the beginning of human culture, and probably before, some caveman realized that there is a sucker born every minute, and with little thought you can convince people to believe what you say, buy what you sell, and follow your cultural lead. This process is possible because most people don't actually think, look inside of themselves, or are just plain selfish and/or ignorant. Hence the beginning of politics, prostitution, and just plain scams.
For instance, the idea that we are made in the image of some God, which is a comfortable thought, because we can blame, thank, or follow an easy path through life, and don't have to think about its meaning, or life and death and personal reponsibility. All we have to do to find happiness is to buy....the car, the house, the sneakers and any other possessions...obey our "leaders", watch tv, and go blindly through life.....Next....love and fear as primary motivaters through the bullshit we call life.
